Detecting activities

چکیده
The recognition of repetitive movements characteristic of walking people, galloping horses, or ying birds is a routine function of the human visual system. It has been demonstrated that humans can recognize such activity solely on the basis of motion information. We present a novel computational approach for detecting such activities in real image sequences on the basis of the periodic nature of their signatures. The approach suggests a low-level feature based activity recognition mechanism. This contrasts with earlier model-based approaches for recognizing such activities.

Detecting Bot Networks Based On HTTP And TLS Traffic Analysis
Abstract— Bot networks are a serious threat to cyber security, whose destructive behavior affects network performance directly. Detecting of infected HTTP communications is a big challenge because infected HTTP connections are clearly merged with other types of HTTP traffic. Cybercriminals prefer to use the web as a communication environment to launch application layer attacks and secretly enga...
متن کاملDetecting Periodicity in Serial Data through Visualization
Detecting suspicious or malicious user behavior in large networks is an essential task for administrators which requires significant effort due to the huge amount of log data to be processed. However, several of these activities can be rapidly identified since they usually demonstrate periodic behavior. For instance, periodic activities by specific users accessing the billing system of a financ...

Natural phenomena and human activities are always changing the earth and Knowing about changad information of the earth’s surface is becoming more and more important in monitoring the local, regional and global resources and environments. The large collection of past and present remote sensing images made it possible to analyze spatio-temporal pattern of environmental elements and impacts of hu...
متن کاملDetecting communities of workforces for the multi-skill resource-constrained project scheduling problem: A dandelion solution approach
This paper proposes a new mixed-integer model for the multi-skill resource-constrained project scheduling problem (MSRCPSP). The interactions between workers are represented as undirected networks. Therefore, for each required skill, an undirected network is formed which shows the relations of human resources. In this paper, community detection in networks is used to find the most compatible wo...
متن کاملLanguage-Motivated Approaches to Action Recognition
We present language-motivated approaches to detecting, localizing and classifying activities and gestures in videos. In order to obtain statistical insight into the underlying patterns of motions in activities, we develop a dynamic, hierarchical Bayesian model which connects low-level visual features in videos with poses, motion patterns and classes of activities. This process is somewhat analo...
متن کاملData Mining in Nonprofit Organizations, Government Agencies, and Other Institutions
Data mining involves searching through databases for potentially useful information, such as knowledge rules, patterns, regularities, and other trends hidden in the data. Today, data mining is more widely used than ever before, not only by businesses who seek profits but also by nonprofit organizations, government agencies, private groups and other institutions in the public sector. In this pap...
